LEGO Ideas Is Turning Tintin's Moon Rocket Into a 1,283-Piece Set

This is one of those LEGO Ideas sets that just makes sense. Designer Alexis Dos Santos from Portugal submitted the Tintin Moon Rocket through the Ideas platform, hit 10,000 votes, passed the Review Board, and now it's becoming an official set. The iconic red-and-white checkered rocket from Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon is getting the brick treatment at 1,283 pieces.

The Details

Set number 21367 is priced at $159.99 and targeted at the 18+ crowd. It stands just under 20 inches tall, which gives it real shelf presence. The top panel is removable to reveal a hidden control room inside, which is a nice detail for display.

The minifigure lineup is what sells this for me. You're getting Tintin, Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, Thomson, and Thompson, all in their space suits, plus Snowy the dog. That's basically the full crew from the Moon storyline.

When Can You Get It

Pre-orders opened March 12, 2026, with general release on April 1, 2026. At $0.12 per piece, it's in line with most LEGO Ideas pricing.

I'm not the biggest Tintin fan personally, but I can appreciate the design here. The rocket is one of the most recognizable spacecraft in comic book history, and translating that checkerboard pattern into LEGO bricks is no small feat. If you grew up reading Hergé, this is probably an instant buy.
